GettyLast week Hollywood star Tom Hardy was labelled a hero after he chased down a suspected moped thief but there’s been a dramatic twist in the tale as a woman has come forth claiming she’s the one who really saved the day.
Th 39-year-old actor chased down the alleged thief last Sunday, finally managing to catch him after he crashed the bike into a Mercedes at a road junction.
Now though Carly Holder, 35, has told the Mail On Sunday that it wasn’t the Mad Max star who stopped the supposed thief it was her.
GettyMs Holder was reportedly enjoying lunch at The Red Cow in Richmond, south west London, when the incident happened.
She said:
It was me who chased the boy and hauled him back to the scene. I’m not seeking plaudits, but I would like Hardy to admit it wasn’t him.
I made the arrest. The police spoke to me afterwards and thanked me for it. One of the boys from the moped ran off down an alleyway. I didn’t stop to think, I just ran after him yelling, ‘Stop!’
A 16-year-old boy was caught after the alleged theft with onlookers saying they saw Hardy chase the boy until he finally grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, shouting ‘I caught the cunt’.
CBeebiesHardy then reportedly pulled the suspect into a nearly bus stop and patted him down for weapons before handing him over to the police.
A spokeswoman for Tom Hardy declined to comment on the matter with the Metropolitan Police simply saying that a ‘member of the public’ had helped them.
If this is true it wouldn’t be out of character for Tom to pretend something had happened, he’s an actor that’s what they do for a living.
