The body of a teenager has been discovered stuffed in a fridge after a suspected honour killing.

19-year-old Celine Dookhran, wwho came from an Indian Muslim background, had been kidnapped by masked men alongside another woman on Wednesday.

Both women were bound, gagged and subjected to rape at a house in Kingston-on-Thames in south-west London.

The other woman, who is in her 20s, survived the ordeal and bravely raised the alarm while recovering in her hospital bed.

However, Celine tragically lost her life after having her throat slit by the kidnappers.

According to The Times, Celine had recently started a relationship with an Arab Muslim man and her death is being treated as an ‘honour killing’.

Yesterday, 33-year-old Mujahid Arshid appeared before Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court, where he was charged with the grave offences of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and rape.

28-year-old Vincent Tappu also appeared, and was charged with the kidnap of both women.

Both of these men will appear before the Old Bailey, 21 August 2018.

Celine’s Twitter account tells the all too short story of a hardworking and religious young woman who cared about her brothers. Like many 19-year-olds, she liked chatting with her friends and cousins about clothes and makeup.

Her last poignant Tweet is absolutely heart breaking in its optimism:

Alhamdulilah [praise God] for everything that’s all I can say.

Our thoughts go out to this lovely young lady who had everything to live for.
