The three unidentified women were photographed waiting at an airport in South Korea, unable to board their plane due to passport control failing to verify their identities through the swelling and the hospital-issued facemasks.
The trio, who are believed to be from China, looked too different from their passport photos to fly home and were forced to await verification.
AsiaWireThe photograph was taken during China’s National Day holiday – which lasts eight days – after the three women allegedly took advantage of South Korea’s ‘Golden Week’, travelling to neighbouring South Korea to undergo plastic surgery.
The picture was said to be posted by Jian Huahua, a Chinese news anchor, on her social media on October 8, but seems to have be removed by Ms Jian from her account.
The Beijing Things Beijingers Don’t Know account managed to re-post the picture on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent to Twitter, claiming the women were among throngs of Chinese people who flocked to South Korea to get surgery for cheap during so-called Golden Week.

It’s currently unclear when and if the women were allowed to return to China, and while they have every right to look anyway that makes them happy, it does beg the question, at what price?
