Criminals are a superstitiously, cowardly lot. So my disguise must be able to strike terror into their hearts. I must be a creature of the night, black, terrible…  – Batman, Detective Comics vol. 1

When Bruce Wayne took on the mantle of Batman to inspire the people of Gotham to stand up to criminals, we doubt this is what he had in mind.

A man, who’s definitely not billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne, has been arrested after he lobbed a razor sharp ‘batarang’ – the trademark weapon of Batman – at police officers in Capitol Hill, Boston.

Seattle Crime News

The man, who’s not been identified, was being pursued by Boston’s finest for threatening a bouncer with an improvised spear, basically a knife tied to a stick, Seattle Crime News reports.

At one point during the chase though, the would-be Batman was seen by witnesses tossing something at the Police SUV which embedded itself in the front of the car.

Upon catching the 23-year-old, officers Benjamin Timbs and Walker Dickson discovered the object the man had tossed was ‘a sharp, black Batman-style throwing star’.

Police then booked the man into the King County Jail for felony assault and are also requesting additional weapons and obstruction charges.
