Flair’s management, Legacy Talent LLC took to Twitter to break the news on Monday.

CEO Melinda Morris Zanoni said:

Are you are a fan or friend of Ric Flair?

If so we need prayers and positive energy for our living legend as he is dealing with some tough medical issues.

Zanoni had previously taken to Twitter over the weekend to say:

Ric in hospital for routine monitoring. No reason to panic.

Others also took to the social media site to ask for support, including Director Rory Karpf, who worked on a documentary about Flair.

Karpf wrote:

Please pray for my friend Ric Flair and keep him in your thoughts.

If like me, you adored wrestling when you were growing up, you’ll know Flair was one of its biggest superstars especially during the 80s and 90s.

The eight-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion and two-time WWF Champion, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2008.

He is the only Hall of Famer to be inducted twice – he was inducted again in 2012 as a then member of The Four Horseman.

Not only is Flair a living legend among wrestling fans, but he is also an inspiration for current professionals including Triple H.

He now appears sporadically on WWE television, mainly in a support role for his daughter Charlotte – the five-time WWE Women’s champion.

Flair’s last match in WWE was at Wrestlemania 24 against Shawn Michaels – which many believed was the match of the year.

After Flair’s so-called ‘retirement match’ he went on to compete on the independent circuit and in WWE rival TNA.

Get well soon Ric, we want you to keep on WOOOOOO’ing!
