As we prepare to say goodbye to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine the final bloody trailer for Logan, potentially his last X-Men movie, has dropped.
The film will see a semi-retired Logan forced back into action when Professor Xavier tasks him with protecting a young girl called Laura (Dafne Keen) who may or may not be his murderous clone X-23, from a organisation called Transigen.
And while the last melancholy trailer focused on the Logan this time the focus is on Laura who’s best described as a human blender capable of slicing and dicing her way through soldiers with ease.
It’s not all mindless carnage though, the film’s already being lauded as one of the most moving superheros movies ever with Ryan Reynolds taking a break from being Deadpool to claim this film may be an Oscar contender.
While it’s a bit early to be making such grandiose statements I think we can all agree that it looks like a great film and it’s going to be heartbreaking to see Hugh finally hang up his adamantium claws.
Joining Jackman and Keen are Patrick Stewart as Professor X, who’s powers are on the fritz as he battles dementia, Stephen Merchant as Caiban, and Richard E. Grant as Dr. Zander Rice.
Logan bursts onto cinema screens March 3.
