Xbox Boss Talks Project Scorpio’s Power Compared To Xbox One

By :

You’ve probably heard by now that Microsoft announced two new Xbox One consoles during their E3 2016 presentation.

While the Xbox One S certainly sounds interesting, with its 2tb hard drive and sexy slim figure, the model that really has everyone talking is the super powerful 4K ready Project Scorpio.

The console’s full specs have yet to be confirmed by Microsoft, but we know it’ll include 6 teraflops of GPU power and be a “true 4K” console, more than capable of delivering “high-fidelity VR”.

Project Scorpio is still a fair way off – the console still has a rough release window of “holiday 2017” – as such, there’s still a lot we don’t know about it.

Luckily, Xbox Boss Phil Spencer revealed in a discussion with Giant Bomb that the Scorpio is about four-and-a-half times more powerful than your common or garden Xbox One.

Scorpio is also expected to be faster than Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 4 Neo, which is said to feature a 4.2 teraflop GPU.

An analysis on Digital Foundry, finds that the Scorpio’s GPU will be around 40% faster than the PlayStation Neo’s, similar to the advantage the current PS4 has over the current Xbox One – oh, the irony.

Will you be saving up for the Scorpio, gunning straight for the Xbox One S, or sticking with Xbox One you own? So many choices.
