Yet Another Heartwarming Reminder Of Why The Rock Is The Ultimate Gentleman

Dwayne Johnson, or as he is perhaps better known, The Rock, is probably just as well known for being an inspirational nice guy as he is for his blockbuster films – he’s like the walking definition of a gentle giant.

Of course, it does not take a genius to figure that we all have our own varied opinions of the former Scorpion King, but it’s pretty damn hard not to feel some sort of liking for him after hearing of how he has helped so many people in times of need.

Posting on Instagram yesterday to his myriad of disciples, The Rock told a story of how a member of the security team, working on the set of Ballers, wanted to tell him a little story, as reported by Uproxx.

I'm always asked "What's the best part of fame?" Here's a story that answers that.. Last week on our last day of shooting #ballers, my security came over and said "There's a few officers who've worked for us all day and would love the chance to meet you. One of them has a personal story to tell you." I said I'd love to meet them and walked over to say hello. I shook hands with both men, took pictures and they graciously said goodbye. As I was walking away, I realized I didn't get the personal story. So I called back to one of the officers and said "I heard you had a sorry for me?" He was surprised and turned around and called for him and said "Sure Mr. Johnson". He told me in 2008 when I was taking my mom to get her weekly chemotherapy and radiation cancer treatments, he was taking his dad, Jesus Arias at the same time – who had been diagnosed with the same cancer as my mom. He said, "You won't remember this but we walked into the hospital at the same time and you turned around, smiled and held the door open for my dad… and you have no idea what that moment meant to him. And me." Officer Arias shared with me that he'd been waiting years to tell me that on that day, after I shook his dad's hand and told him to stay strong, that his dad felt no pain that day. And was once again was a happy man and pain free. Even if just for one day. Jesus Arias passed away from cancer later that year, but his life continues to tell an inspiring story. I'm always asked "What's the best part of fame?" Hands down, it's moments like this. Y'all take care of each other and your families. Remember it's often the littlest things we do in life that can make the BIGGEST difference. And Officer @Rarias23 thank you for sharing your dad's story with me.
