Cards Against Humanity Fans Raise $9million To Stop Trump’s Wall

The team behind the politically incorrect party game Cards Against Humanity have launched a successful venture which hopes to upend US President Donald Trump’s plan to build a wall across the Mexican border.

It’s been so successful they’ve raised $9 million in the space of nine hours, thanks to their ever growing fan base.

This week the creators unveiled a project which encouraged costumers to spend $15 (£11.40) to receive six special packages in December, which is now sold out, reports the Daily Dot.

A Twitter preview showcase the first packages which reveals the game manufacturers have bought a plot of vacant land on the US-Mexican border.

Furthermore they explain they had:

… retained a law firm specializing in eminent domain to make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for the wall to get built.

On their official Twitter account the Cards Against Humanity team wrote:

The government is being run by a toilet. We have no choice… we are going to save America and attempt to keep our brand relevant in 2017.

Those lucky enough to snag their six-package promotion will receive an illustrated map of the land which they’ve bought, along with a certificate which pledges to fight Trump’s controversial wall, some new cards ‘and a few other surprises’.

According to the game’s co-creator Max Temkin 150,000 subscriptions for the packages were sold within nine hours.

The Cards Against Humanity Community Manager also went on Twitter to thank those who bought the package deal while also adding her ‘brain evacuated my body hours ago’.

Those who were lucky to get their hands on their special promotion were also treated to what they can look forward to in their future packages.

Trump’s proposal to build a wall which aims to deter illegal aliens from getting into America has been one of the many polarising promises made by the president. Despite the perceived unpopularity of a huge (and costly) structure, it was one of things which ultimately won him the presidency.

Trump has been waging a cultural war on many fronts since coming into office and putting a cap immigration has been near the top of his agenda.

The border between America and Mexico spans approximately 1,900 miles (3,100 km), this doesn’t even take into consideration the terrain which it covers.

As well as construction of the wall being something of a monumental challenge, what’s also up for debate is how much it will actually cost.

According to the BBC President Trump has claimed it will cost the American taxpayers $10 billion (£7.5 billion) to $12 billion (£9.1 billion) to put up.

However a study by The Washington Post claims it will cost closer to $25 billion (£18.9 billion) to make.

Either way it looks like Donald Trump’s wall has hit more obstacles.
