In what most believed was impossible, Donald Trump has defied all the odds and achieved a majority vote – in what was without doubt the most bizarre and terrifying presidential election of all time – meaning that he will soon become the next President of the United States.

Despite being a rank outsider across the globe, Trump was able to hold a steady lead over his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, before claiming the 270 necessary votes thus being victorious in the presidential election.

The news was announced after Trump claimed Wisconsin just after 2:30am local time, shortly after which – Associated Press confirmed that he is to become the next, and 45th, President of the United States.

Clinton was expected to have a walkover in the election with significant leads in almost every national poll. Even the bookies had Trump down with 5/1 odds across the globe until the early hours of the morning.

However a wind of radical change came quickly, after Trump was able to pull off major domineering wins in almost every swing state, which began with a shock victory in Florida with a tight victory of 49 per cent to 48 per cent.

Trump also dominated in the key states of North Carolina, Ohio, Iowa, and many, many more.

As you can probably imagine – in the immediate aftermath of his success the Internet turned into a cesspit of support, condemnation, and downright fear:

Donald Trump will take up his role as President of the United States in January next year.

I suspect the near future will be very interesting at the least.
