A huge ghost detecting machine, which I imagine to be a bit like the Ghostbusters PKE detector, has basically proven that ghosts don’t exist.
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) which created a tiny black hole and discovered the Higgs boson, winning a Nobel Prize in physics, has now also disproved the existence of any ‘energy’ or ‘substance’ driving our bodies.
Speaking on Radio 4’s The Infinite Monkey Cage, Popular science communicator Brian Cox cut to the chase and clarified: “We are not here to debate the existence of ghosts because they don’t exist.”
Classic Brian, telling it like it is…
The former D Ream keyboard player said:
If there’s some kind of substance that’s driving our bodies, making my arms move and legs move, then it must interact with the particles out of which our bodies are made.
And seeing as we’ve made high precision measurements of the ways that particles interact, then my assertion is there can be no such thing as an energy source that’s driving our bodies.
Before we ask the first question, I want to make a statement: We are not here to debate the existence of ghosts because they don’t exist.

I would have thought that if ghosts did exists, science’s most precise detector would be able to pick up some sort of trace.
According to everyone’s favourite TV physicist, humans are made up of nothing but atoms and particulars that cease to exist when we die.
But hey, that’s just science…what do they know, right?
