Former Cricket star and TV regular, Freddie Flintoff, has opened up about something very dear to him – his belief the Earth is flat or at least ‘bulbous, like a turnip’.
Speaking on his BBC 5 Live podcast with Robbie Savage, Flintoff confessed he’s become infatuated with a podcast called The Flat Earthers.
The podcast claims the spherical Earth is a myth which was created by Disney, however this theory can quite quickly be deemed problematic considering folk have believed the Earth was round since the Ancient Greek era.
Most flat Earth theorists believe the Earth is a disc shape and all evidence suggesting the Earth is round is a government and NASA based conspiracy.
Speaking on his show, Freddie explained:
The pictures which you see, the horizon always appears flat. Apart from NASA pictures which some say could be doctored.
The theory with the flat Earth is, right, you got the Earth, and it’s round like a disc, not completely flat – it’s probably bulbous underneath.
In the middle of it is the North Pole. Bang in the middle. Round the outside is the South Pole.

He went onto give further groundbreaking information, stating:
If you’re in a helicopter and you hover why does the Earth not come to you if it’s round?
Why, if we’re hurtling through space, why would water stay still? Why is it not wobbling? Also if you fire a laser about 16 miles, if the world was curved, you shouldn’t be able to see it but you can.
The middle is the North Pole, around the outside is the South Pole which is like a big wall of ice. This is why all governments now have bases on the South Pole.
Freddie has also tweeted numerous times claiming to be a ‘flat-Earther’:
The 39-year-old also ignored satellite images as proof of a spherical Earth and said he is considering a trip to The Flat Earth International Conference in the US next year.
