Netflix Tweet Brutal Response To Flat Earthers Complaining About Behind The Curve Doc

It may be 2019, but judging by some circles of Twitter, it would appear our 17th century forefathers have risen from their graves to express their astronomical opinions.

Many of those who watched Netflix documentary Behind The Curve, found their eyes rolling around more times than our shared spherical planet has rotated around the sun.

Sadly, this doc hasn’t done much in the way of dissuading Flat Earthers, many of whom have conveniently chosen to ignore how one documentary subject actually managed to disprove his own theory during that toe curling gyroscope experiment.

Now Netflix have had their say on the matter, with a statement which is almost perfect in its simplicity.

The ‘Official Statement RE: The Shape Of The Earth’ has been uploaded to Twitter, and contains two words which make more sense than anything uttered in Behind The Curve:

It’s round.

Netflix’s statement has proven music to the ears of Behind The Curve viewers who feared they would never hear anything sensible again in this big ol’ round world.

One person clapped, ‘fair play lads’ while another let out a single, relieved cry of ecstasy, ‘YESS!!’

In one awkward scene of Behind The Curve, a couple of Flat Earthers actually managed to prove the Earth’s rotation using a $20,000 laser gyroscope, much to their discomfort.

This caused Flat Earth YouTube channel host Bob Knodel to nervously murmur, ‘interesting, interesting…’ as his ludicrous theories were roasted like a feather thrown into the boiling lava at the earth’s core.

After the experiment squashed their beliefs like a particularly heavy meteorite pulled in by the earth’s orbit, Knodel said:

What we found is, when we turned on that gyroscope, we found that we were picking up a drift. A 15 degree per hour drift.

Now, obviously we were taken aback by that – ‘Wow, that’s kind of a problem.’ We obviously were not willing to accept that, and so we started looking for ways to disprove it was actually registering the motion of the Earth.

Addressing another Flat Earther about the unwanted findings, Bob cautioned:

We don’t want to blow this, you know? When you’ve got $20,000 in this freaking gyro. If we dumped what we found right now, it would be bad. It would be bad.

What I just told you was confidential.

Thank you Netflix. We now eagerly await your comment on anti-vaxxers…
