Stephen Hawking Reveals Humans Haven’t Got Long Left As A Species

Renowned physicist and all around mega-clever clogs Stephen Hawking has warned humanity that their days are numbered unless we find a new planet.

While delivering a speech at the Oxford Union Professor Hawking revealed he theorises that the human species only has 1000 years left before extinction.

The eminent astrophysicist cited nuclear war, the threat of global warming and artificial intelligence as the potential architects of our destruction, but there is a solution Business Insider reports.

All we’ve got to do is find a new planet to colonise and we’ll be hunky-dory  (our words not his).

Prof Hawking explained:

We must also continue to go into space for the future of humanity, I don’t think we will survive another 1,000 years without escaping beyond our fragile planet.

While finding another planet to live on may sound like the realm of science fiction but NASA has actually found plenty of ‘other Earths’ within the habitable zone of stars similar to our sun.

This area is known as the ‘Goldilock’s Zone’ because it’s not too hot, it’s not too cold, it’s just right for life – just like the porridge was just right for that freeloader Goldilocks.
