Carrie Fisher, best known for her incredible performance as Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, suffered a fatal heart attack on a plane and passed away on Tuesday.

Her fans were shocked, and the public grieved a huge loss with messages of support pouring in for the star, who had batted through a drug addiction for a long time.

Carrie was famously very open about her addiction, campaigning for better support and fighting stigma around mental health, before telling her story as a best-selling author for Wishful Drinking.
