Musician, Lil Peep has died aged just 21 years old.
Lil Peep, real name Gustav Åhr, was reportedly taken to hospital following an overdose, according to music manager Adam Grandmaison, reports the Guardian.
The emerging emo rapper gained acclaim on YouTube, where his songs White Wine, Benz Truck and The Way I See Things have each gained over four million views, racking in a huge 57,789,427 views in total.
The tattooed artist’s work was of the SoundCloud generation, which strives for independence and total creativity with their music. Many critics had him pegged for great things in the future.
Peep’s manager Chase Ortega broke the bad news on Twitter, writing:
I’ve been expecting this call for a year. Mother f*ck

Peep was a truly modern artist who spoke to the depth of emotions felt by his young fanbase, and was declared ‘the future of emo’ before his untimely passing.
Lil Peeps’s uniquely melancholic mix of post-hardcore, lo-fi rap and emo-trap explored issues of suicide and drug use.
Condolences to his family, friends and loyal fanbase. RIP Lil Peep.
