While we’re pretty used to people on the web speculating about how Game of Thrones will end or trying to prove the existence of UFOs, the Internet’s latest theory is probably the most bonkers ever.
Back in 2009, the world mourned the death of controversial ‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson, who passed away after taking a huge amount of sleeping pills, but a new photo has conspiracy theorists asking ‘did the icon really die?’
Speculation began when Paris Jackson, Michael’s daughter, posted a photo to Instagram of herself in a car, which seemed normal enough at first, but lurking in the background a shadowy figure can be seen, The Daily Star reports.
The figure appears to be wearing Jacko’s famous hat and Jackson fans claim that it can only be one person – the Thriller star himself, Michael Jackson.
Of course, the Internet being the Internet people have immediately jumped on this ridiculous theory, with one fan going so far as to make a YouTube video called SHOCK! Michael Jackson Seen Alive 2016 Paris Jackson instagram photo.
The video tries to corroborate its clearly nonsense claims by superimposing the deceased musician’s face onto the shadowy figure in the car.
Sorry guys, we’re not buying this tripe…
