Captaining the England team isn’t the only way Harry Kane’s life has been intertwined with David Beckham’s, as a picture has emerged throwing back to Kane meeting Beckham as an 11-year old, with his future fiancée smiling next to him.

24-year-old centre forward Kane is known for his time at Tottenham Hotspur, where he debuted in 2011, and will now follow in David Beckham’s footsteps by captaining the England national team for the world cup this year.

As a fresh-faced 11-year-old schoolboy 13 years ago, Kane had the pleasure of meeting the Three Lions’ captain and footballing legend, Beckham, at the former Manchester United star’s academy.

Amazingly, Kane and Becks also attended the same school – Chingford Foundation School. There must be something in the water there.

The pair were joined in the photo by schoolgirl Kate Goodland, with Kane unknowing the two would go on to share a daughter, Ivy Jane Kane.

If Beckham was attempting to match-make the couple, his results took quite a while to show, but they got there in the end! Kane and Goodland started dating 6 years after they had their picture taken with Becks.

In 2017, Kane and Goodland celebrated their 6-year anniversary, and Kane decided to pop the question while on holiday in the Bahamas.

She said YES! ?❤️??

All grown up, Harry Kane and his fiancée Kate welcomed their daughter Ivy into the world in January 2017.

Earlier this year, Kane announced that he and Kate are expecting their second child.

Kane revealed the news on Instagram, with the caption

Our beautiful Ivy is going to be a big sister! Exciting times ahead.

In an interview with Esquire magazine, Kane spoke about his relationship with Kate and how she was adjusting to his football-stardom.

We went to school together, so she’s seen my whole career. Of course, she’s finding it a little crazy. I think she’s even been in the papers a couple of times taking the dogs out

Esquire magazine report that Kane was something of a dark horse throughout his football career, with even his former youth coaches at Arsenal having doubts about the striker’s success.

Where his coaches may have lacked confidence, Harry’s school P.E teachers remained hopeful in the young boy’s career.

Speaking to the Daily Mail in 2015, the teachers commented on their pupil’s success.

Harry was always dedicated and driven to succeed

When he played for the school, he gave it everything. He scored a lot of goals and we had a very successful team and he was outstanding.

He was always technically gifted and a real team player. He didn’t expect to be treated differently. He wasn’t one to keep the ball if a pass was on. He was never like that. Going through school, he was never egotistic. He was a normal pupil.

Happy Birthday to the love of my life ❤️??? @kategoodersxx

Despite the mixed reviews around the beginning of his career, Kane grew up to be one of the world’s most in-demand strikers, and follows Beckham’s lead as the 2018 England captain.

As well as his footballing success, his love-life worked out pretty well too, with his childhood sweetheart becoming his fiancée and mother to his soon-to-be two children.

Congratulations, Harry and Kate!
