Manchester United claimed bragging rights on Derby Day, as Marcus Rashford came up trumps again.
The teenager was starting his eighth straight game for United, and hit the headlines when he made Martin Demichelis look like a turkey and slotted past Joe Hart.
Manchester City had nothing in response and United held on for the win, which made the internet go nuts:
Here’s the best of the reaction:
People were actually praising Louis van Gaal’s team selection:
Man United actually play better without Fellaini… Who would of knew it?

But others questioned how he’d make his trademark subs:
At Etihad and saw Utd subs. Momentarily worried that LVG can only bring on one full back. But then realised he's probably converted Januzaj

His assistant was getting some stick too:
Some great work from Ryan Giggs there. #ManchesterDerby pic.twitter.com/B83GXdNr66

But soon, Rashford made sure everyone was talking about him…again:
Demichelis a toppling statue as Rashford sped past. Brilliant from the United teenager. 1-0 to #mufc.

And it earned him some high praise from one of England’s finest:
That's a sparkling bit of play from Marcus Rashford.

We’re not sure if this one’s true or it’s the hype train hitting top gear, but still:
Giggs watched Rashford play for U-21s on Feb 11th against Man City & mentioned him to LvG. 38 days later he scores on his Manc derby debut!

While Martin Demichelis was getting some serious abuse:
Demichelis surely the only man in history to become MORE embarrassing after cutting off a ponytail #MCFCvMUFC

30 – Letting Martin Demichelis play professional football is the most adventurous Make-a-Wish dream to come true in over 30 years. Charity.

If Demichelis has actually injured Joe Hart with a back pass and rules him out of the Euros…
— The Manc (@TheMancUK) March 20, 2016
Demichelis ended up being subbed, and that pleased everyone of a City persuasion:
Demichelis gone and the team looks confident again

In the final stages, City started to come on strong and it got United fans worried:
Don't Gerrard this now @ManUtd.

But some people (probably a Southerner I’m assuming) were slightly bitter:

Looks like Manuel Pellegrini really doesn’t give a shit.
