The former Light-Welterweight Champion tweeted out an apology to the current IBF, WBA and IBO Heavyweight Champion, tweeted out an apology as it appeared that the alleged affair between Anthony Joshua and Khan’s soon-to-be-divorced wife, Faryal Makhdoom was fake.

The public apology came after Makhdoom sent out a tweet of her own confirming that the texts that she sent Khan, bragging that she was having an affair with Joshua, were fake.

In the tweet she admitted that her and Joshua ‘have never even met’ and apologised ‘for all this nonsense’.

Khan later sent his response and sent an apology (of sorts) of his own to the World Heavyweight Champ for dragging him into his drama between him and Makhdoom.

Joshua responded to Khan’s tweet saying that he ‘accepted’ his apology.

Khan also expressed his regret regarding the way he dealt with the separation of him and his wife. At the height of the drama – where Khan said that Joshua was welcome to his ‘sloppy seconds’ – he posted pictures of himself partying in Dubai with Instagram star and beauty adviser, Gulbahor Becknazar.

Since then the 30-year-old boxer has said that:

I partied in Dubai with friends to get my wife angry. Shouldn’t have. That’s not like me and I’ll prove that.

Khan currently faces an expensive divorce from his estranged wife that could cost him up to £30 million, plus more in property and luxury items (i.e. flash cars).

Despite being on collision course for a bad day in divorce court, he’s remained upbeat tweeting that:

It happens in life. The relationship was getting unhealthy… I wish her nothing but the best

Khan hasn’t been back in the ring since his loss to Saul Alvarez for the WBC World Middleweight title back in May 2016.

However he is determined to return to winning ways with a tweet saying:

Mid August I’m off to San Francisco to start my training… Putting everything behind me and moving forward. Get back on top with big fights

As for Joshua, he’ll be putting up his WBA Heavyweight title against Luis Ortiz after former champ Wladimir Klitschko announced his retirement this month.
