Inter Milan striker and captain, Mauro Icardi, will leave the Italian giants this summer, according to his wife – and agent – Wanda Nara.

Icardi has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all interested in the 23-year-old’s services.

He bagged 16 goals in 34 games last season as Inter finished fourth in Serie A, and secured Europa League qualification.

Despite their finish, Nara says the club are willing to let their main striker leave, with the Premier League a possible destination.

Speaking to Calciomercato, Nara said:

From what I can see, Inter have put Icardi up for sale.

There are many clubs interested. We will evaluate the situation with all due respect for everyone.

Mauro would be very sad to leave Inter, but we’ve understood the club’s economic situation and evidently they cannot hold Icardi back.

There is no release clause in his contract and we hope Inter won’t ask for a sum that is outside the market value, but rather suited to his contract.

Any move from a Premier League club will have to be for major money though, as Icardi is also being tracked by Atletico Madrid, who have already tabled a £29m bid.

And with Spurs completing the signing of Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar, the Argentine may have to hope Arsenal or Chelsea come in for him.

Atletico Madrid are also chasing Chelsea’s Diego Costa, so Stamford Bridge may be a possibility, especially as Antonio Conte knows him well from his managerial stint with Juventus.
