It’s often said that behind every successful man there is a successful woman.
So, with that in mind, and in the spirit of International Women’s Day, say hello to the woman who has been by Conor McGregor’s side throughout his career, Dee Devlin.
Devlin, 28, also hails from Dublin and has been with McGregor for around nine years, supporting his meteoric rise from collecting social welfare cheques to selling out the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

McGregor may have been unsuccessful on Saturday night as he faced Nate Diaz at UFC 196 but, unlike so many fickle fans online, Devlin made it clear that he can rely on her in the aftermath.
In a post to Instagram yesterday, she said:
So unbelievably proud of you every single day babe, you are my hero.

McGregor has not made any secret of what his fellow Dublin native’s support means to him.
As reported by the Irish Mirror, in an interview with MMA Fighting last year, McGregor suggested he owed a major share of his success to Devlin.
He said:
My girlfriend has been there since the start. She has helped me throughout this career. If it wasn’t for her, I probably wouldn’t be where I am today. So definitely, I love to spoil her.
She does not work anymore, I hired her to the business. She works for me now and collects the cheques.

McGregor added:
My girlfriend worked very hard throughout the years and stuck by me when I had essentially absolutely nothing.
I only had a dream that I was telling her. For me to be able to take her out of work, give her everything she’s ever wanted and to travel the world with her fills me with pride.
It keeps me going.

As he has avoided any medical suspension and, with the support of Devlin behind him, hopefully McGregor will be making a very swift return to the Octagon in the next few months.
