MMA legend Conor McGregor has found himself in hot water after crashing a UFC press conference injuring a fighter during his attack.

After UFC President Dana White announced McGregor wouldn’t be attending UFC 223 this weekend in Brooklyn, New York, the fighter decided to turn up anyway at the Barclays Centre this afternoon (April 5).

As the media day wrapped up, according to witnesses, McGregor crashed the conference with his entourage, attacking a bus, leaving UFC lightweight fighter Michael Chiesa reportedly injured during the onslaught.

At this weekend’s upcoming event, undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov will be fighting against late replacement Max Holloway for the UFC 155lbs belt – McGregor’s title.

Clearly unimpressed how the winner of this fight would be the new champion McGregor fired a warning shot earlier this morning, April 5, on his Twitter account.

He angrily wrote:

You’s’ll strip me of nothing you’s do nothing c*nts.

This was a clear response to the statement White made at an earlier press conference.

As reported by MMA Fighting, he said:

No interim champ. When this fight is over, champion, one of these guys will be the champion.

The only person here who is losing a belt is Conor. Conor’s losing the belt, these two are fighting for the belt.

The interim belt that he had, those two [Nurmagomedov and Ferguson] were supposed to fight — doesn’t happen.

White also added how he anticipated McGregor would be back before the end of the year.

Those at the conference only managed to get a fleeting glimpse of McGregor as he was quickly escorted away.

However, he still had time to kick off in front of the fighters as they attempted to leave the venue to return to their nearby hotel.

On Twitter it’s claimed by reporter Ariel Helwani the bus McGregor attacked is Nurmagomedov’s – who was involved in an altercation with Artem Lobov earlier this week, McGregor’s training partner.

Helwani also alleges Chiesa was injured in the strike but it’s currently unknown how serious it is.

He tweeted:

I’m told chairs were thrown through the van window and one passenger on the van was injured. Dana White is on his way back to the arena.

Most of the fighters are still in the arena but some were able to leave. According to multiple sources Michael Chiesa suffered a laceration in the fracas.

I’m told Chiesa’s cut is on his face. He’s being attended to at the arena. Unclear at this time how serious his injury is. I’ve seen video shot by fighters in the van.

Very clear Conor is telling someone to get out of the van before being pulled away by security. Khabib and his team were in that particular van.

As a result of the incident, Chiesa’s pay-per-view fight against former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis has been cancelled.

It’ll be interesting to see if McGregor shows his face again this weekend…
