Conor McGregor is somewhat of a Marmite figure in MMA – but love him or hate him you have to respect that he is one of few fighters fit enough to enter the Octagon three times a year.

The Irishman is well aware of the intrigue that subsequently surrounds his training, and he is ready and willing to share his secrets.

The featherweight champion has revealed that he will be releasing the programme he followed to bounce back from UFC 196 defeat to take Nate Diaz the distance for a decision victory at UFC 202.

McGregor told John Gooden during preparations for UFC 205:

It took me three months to go from not lasting two rounds to outlasting a triathlete over five rounds who has 30lbs on me.

The work we’re doing, the cardiovascular work we’re doing with the doc’, with coach Kavanagh, everything is monitored. Nothing is guesswork, there’s no guesswork here…

We’re releasing a training programme, a three month training programme where people can join the training methods that I went through in my preparation for the second Diaz fight.

He continued:

It’s currently in progress, we’re currently making it. You’ll type in your results, you type in how serious you are when train two days, three days, four days, and the site will let you know the sets you should be doing, at what range, at what heartbeat.

It’s very scientific and we’re looking forward to getting that off the ground and changing people’s lives with this.

It changed my life.

Next up for McGregor is lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez on November 12 at Madison Square Garden, a bout that could see the UFC’s first ever two-division champion.
