The Irish UFC fighter has responded to the challenge made by the lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos on Saturday after the Brazilian dared him to move into his weight class.
The gauntlet was thrown down after dos Anjos destroyed Donald ‘The Cowboy’ Cerrone in just one minute and six seconds to defend his lightweight championship. After the fight, dos Anjos warned Conor McGregor, who is currently thinking about moving up from featherweight to fight him, to stay in his division if he doesn’t want to get beat.

However McGregor, the reigning UFC featherweight champion, who has said he wants to move up to lightweight and win the title there, took to Twitter to address dos Anjos posting:
Line them up on their knees with their hands out. I want them to beg me. pic.twitter.com/YCYf0QslNR

Although dos Anjos’ performance was impressive, McGregor knocked out Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds to unify the featherweight title at UFC 194 last week. For his next fight he has a few choices, from a lightweight title fight against dos Anjos, to a featherweight defence versus Frankie Edgar.
If the dos Anjos-McGregor fight happens you can guarantee there will be plenty more trash talk to take in before it does – not to mention the fight itself which should be an epic battle. Can’t wait.
