Floyd Mayweather has apparently accepted Conor McGregor’s request to use lighter gloves during their upcoming fight in Las Vegas.
McGregor, who usually wears 4oz gloves, has been making all sorts of noise about having to wear 10ooz gloves in the duo’s highly-anticipated bout and now, it seems as though Floyd has given in to Irish man’s demand’s….kind of.
Mayweather made the offer while making a sly dig at McGregor in an Instagram post:
I’ll be wearing 8oz Grant gloves. Whatever advantage McGregor needs to feel more comfortable in the ring, I’m willing to accommodate.
This clearly hit a nerve, and The Notorious responded, boldly suggesting he ‘doesn’t give a fuck about the size of the glove’.
According to McGregor:
I am coming sprinting at you with bricks. Know that. Brittle hands.
At the end of the day it really isn’t up to either fighter what gloves they wear – regulations are quite clear about, light middleweight boxers having to wear 10oz gloves.
However, I’m pretty sure the pair will still find plenty more to squabble about before the August 26th fight.
