Conor McGregor has been suspended by the UFC following his recent fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov in Las Vegas.

The decision to suspend the Irishman is based on medical grounds, and he’ll not be allowed any contact until October 28.

The official line on the UFC list of medical suspensions states: ‘Conor McGregor: Suspended until 6/11/18, no contact until 28/10/18.’

However, McGregor’s opponent at UFC 229, Khabib, escaped suspension on medical grounds after finishing the fight relatively unscathed and passing post-match medical examinations.

The Irishman tapped out to the Russian in the fourth round of their bout, however, the action didn’t stop there, as Khabib jumped over the Octagon and proceeded to allegedly attack McGregor’s team.

McGregor has already demanded a rematch, although that won’t be for a while supposedly.

Despite beating McGregor, the Russian’s $2 million prize money has been withheld, and his current UFC title is in danger of being stripped due to his actions after the fight.

Speaking at a post-match press conference, Nurmagomedov did apologise for his behaviour, as per the Independent:

I want to say sorry to the athletic commission, sorry to Vegas. I know this is not my best side.

I don’t understand how people can say I jumped on the cage. He talked about my religion, my family, he came to Brooklyn and could have killed people on the bus.

Why are we talking about me climbing on the cage? My father taught me to be respectful. Today, he tapped, the belt is here, undisputed, undefeated UFC Lightweight Champion. This is a respectful sport, not a trash-talking sport.

Despite the actions of Khabib and his entourage, McGregor has said he won’t be pressing charges. Instead, he called for a rematch, adding:

We lost the match but won the battle. The war goes on.

Three of Nurmagomedov’s team were arrested at the event, but were later released.

Following the post-match brawl, UFC President, Dana White, confirmed McGregor decided not to press charges against Nurmagomedov’s team.

According to the Daily Mail, he spoke to press at the post-fight conference stating:

I saw one of Conor’s guys yelling at Khabib, he then jumped over the Octagon and went after him.

Two of Khabib’s guys got into the Octagon and hit Conor with some shots from behind. They have pulled the footage from us and have withheld Khabib’s purse but not Conor.

Conor refused to press charges so the guys who were arrested have been released. The guys who jumped in will never fight here. I’ve been working hard for 18 years to build this sport.

I know many of you are here for the first time, I can promise you that this is not what MMA is about. We worked hard to build a perfect event, we took all the right precautions, you’ve never seen so many police officers.

Nobody saw Khabib scaling that cage like he was a parkour guy, it happened so fast but they did a great job of containing it.

Following the fight and subsequent brawl in Las Vegas, the full repercussions of the match are yet to be confirmed.
