In the latest in a bunch of interesting twists and turns, Paulie Malignaggi, Conor McGregor’s sparring partner, has quit.
Malignaggi joined McGregor’s training camp to help bring the MMA Lightweight Champion up to scratch in his upcoming bout against legend Floyd Mayweather.
The two apparently sparred twice, and tensions were reportedly high, despite there being an agreement against disclosure of information to the public.
Malignaggi could be seen with some damage after each of these sessions, but apparently was quite content in McGregor’s training camp.
He has since left the team, and has taken to Twitter to share his grievances.
He seems to be reacting to what might be deliberate photo leaks that paint McGregor in a positive light and make Malignaggi look bad.

He said in a series of six Tweets that he beat McGregor in their latest sparring match.
He called for the ‘full unedited video’ to be released, which by his own suggestion would show Malignaggi dominating The Notorious in the ring.
He said:
I actually beat his ass, 24 hrsoff a flight 2 lol, which is why Im saying post the vid, I try not 2 be petty but seems it’s late 4 that now.
I came to help this camp out, not to be exploited, now your gonna get the truth though. Post FULL UNEDITED VIDEO FROM TUES night #Ethics

Since the intial outburst on Twitter on Thursday night, he seems to have taken a more measured approach on his Instagram.
He said that he wished the team well for future training.
It’s unclear at the moment whether this beef is real or not, with some people speculating that it’s just a publicity stunt ahead of the big bout at the end of this month.
Either way, it’ll be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks with McGregor’s training.
Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather fight on August 26.
