Wayne Rooney’s effort against Manchester City and Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s beauty against England a few years back spring to mind, but Dean Ashton has joined that list with his strike in Mark Noble’s testimonial.
Ashton is still only 32, but after retiring with persistent ankle injuries and turning his hand to punditry, he’s somewhat out of shape and hasn’t played competitively in six years.
But that didn’t stop him pulling this off:
Unbelievable.
Knowing Noble’s luck, Ashton will get a recall to the England team before he does.
