Fans were left confused after Drake rocked up to Conor McGregor’s official UFC 229 weigh-ins, draped in an Irish flag.
The Canadian rapper joined Mystic Mac on stage, showing his support for the fiery Irish man before what is fabled to be the greatest battle in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) history.
Drake could be seen embracing McGregor at the Las Vegas based event, posing for pictures while the mixed martial arts star flexed his muscles.
McGregor even shared a picture of himself clenching his fists besides his new best bud, captioning the pic:
the 6 God and The 12 animal!
Fans of UFC and Drake alike have been surprised by the sudden friendship, describing the apparently tight bond as being ‘random’.
One puzzled person tweeted:
[This is] the most random thing you will see all day’.
Another sighed:
Drake gonna release a new song rapping in an Irish accent smh.

Others have accused Drake of being a serial ‘bandwagoner’, with one person noting:
Drake was partying with Floyd all year. Hang out with the Diaz bros after the fights. He is a band-wagoner. Always was and still is. [sic]
Another raged:
Drake is the King of Bandwagons. Hop off the wave, you don’t even know sh*t about MMA bro. [sic]
One person even went as far as to harshly describe Drake as being the ‘commemorative balloon every athlete gets when they become popular’.
Drake is the King of Bandwagons.Hop off the wave, you don't even know shit about MMA bro.

On Saturday, October 6, McGregor will fight Khabib Nurmagomedov in the T-Mobile Arena, the very same venue where he fought Floyd Mayweather back in 2017. It’s anticipated the bout will begin at around 4am UK time.
As reported by The Sun, McGregor made the following statement about the hotly anticipated fight:
He [Nurmagomedov] may have wrestled Dagestani bears but he has never wrestled a Irish gorilla and that’s what he’s about to face on Saturday night.
I believe he’s slow, he’s flat footed, his striking is very average and I look to expose that.
Nurmagomedov stated:
Maybe I’m gonna finish him. But all the time when he’s tired, he gives up. This is all the time. Like before fights, he talks like ‘I’m ready for this, I’m ready for this,’ when he fight with Diaz, when he fight with Mayweather. But when he’s tired he gives up all the time.
