Emmanuel Eboue has been sacked by Sunderland – just 22 days after signing for them.
The Ivory Coast international has been hit with a one year ban for failing to pay a former agent money he was owed, leading Sunderland to cancel his deal, which was due to run until the end of the season.
It’s the latest episode in an entertaining career for the former Arsenal man, and Twitter reacted superbly:
Some found it hilarious:
Emmanuel Eboue being signed and sacked within the space of 22 days is totally hilarious.

And some seen it as the perfect opportunity to have a dig at FIFA:
FIFA banning Emmanuel Eboue for a year for not paying agent's fees – at least they are tackling corruption somewhere.

Some called it straight:

And others just hammered Sunderland because it’s funny:
Good news for Sunderland: Emmanuel Eboue's ban covers 'all football-related activity' – so he should still be fine to play for them

It's nice to see Sunderland have sacked more players than managers this season…
