Everybody’s Laughing At How Conor McGregor Throws An American Football

Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and while Conor McGregor might be a force in the Octagon, his American football throwing skills aren’t quite up to scratch.

The Irish UFC fighter attended the Dallas Cowboys football game yesterday (October 14), as a special guest of the owner, Jerry Jones.

McGregor posed for photos and met members of the team, but the internet got its true source of entertainment when the MMA star threw a football across the field.

To be fair to McGregor, the football seemed to travel some distance, but that didn’t matter when it came to watching the fighter’s throwing form.

His performance was considered so terrible, many believed the Irishman had probably never thrown a football before in his 30 years of life. Maybe he’d be more successful at playing English football?

Or perhaps he should just stick to throwing punches in the Octagon to save him from inevitable ridicule across the internet? But then again…

Witty comments sprung up across social media soon after McGregor’s appearance on the football field.

One person wrote:

I think McGregor picked the right sport

While another speculated:

Conor McGregor has never thrown a football before

A third likened McGregor’s football playing skills to him throwing toilet paper over someone’s house:

In a desperate attempt to provide an excuse for his poor performance, McGregor took to Instagram and shared an image of his football-throwing experience, calling those who were mocking him ‘f**king ruthless’ and explaining his odd technique was simply because he didn’t want to rip his jacket.

He wrote on the site:

Hahaha yous’r f**king ruthless on this side. I just didn’t want to rip my custom @augustmcgregor baby blue billionaire blazer.
That was all, y’all. [sic]

Great job to the Cowboys today! It’s a Proper giddy up tonight in Dallas and I LOVE IT, see yous soon. [sic]

I mean, it seems like he could have just taken his jacket off to throw the football, but whatever you say, Conor…

Despite the amount of teasing he received, the Notorious seemed to have a great time at the Cowboys game and looked suitably overjoyed to be holding the ball – even if he was restricted in his ability to play with it.

I think he should stick to MMA from now on – that is, once he’s allowed to get back following his suspension from the sport.

While he might not have been the best player to ever step foot on the pitch, at least he had a good time!
