Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton celebrated his victory yesterday at the Sochi Grand Prix by spraying anyone and everyone relentlessly with his champagne. Happy days (video below).
Russian President Vladimir Putin handed him the award. He had to hang around on stage for a bit and towards the end copped a nice soaking.
People on Twitter have now posted their concerns for Hamilton after spraying the Russian leader, who was ushered off stage quickly as the celebrations broke out.
I don’t know why I constantly think Mr. Putin has a sense of humour, but I do think that, so I’m sure Lewis will be fine.
The pair seem chummy, though. Mr. Putin gave Lewis Hamilton a cheeky hug and the racing driver also told Mr. Putin that Russia is a beautiful country,
Hamilton is well-known for his celebration antics. He came under fire earlier in the year for spraying a hostess in the face after winning the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai.
Plot Twist: It probably ends up being her that has the hired hitmen whack him.
Ah dear.
Anyways, Hamilton took his ninth win of the season and 42nd of his career at the Sochi Autodrom yesterday.
Here’s a video of the awards celebration in which you’ll see Mr. Putin scurry off stage as the champagne rains down:
