‘F*ck You And The Queen’ Says UFC Star Conor McGregor In Facebook Rant

Irish UFC superstar ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor has never been shy about sharing his feelings, but his latest Facebook rant was strong even for him!

After a fan accused the outspoken Dublin-born mixed martial artist of “selling out the Irish people” when he was photographed wearing a Remembrance poppy, McGregor launched into a passionate rebuttal to defend his actions and his love of his country.

He pointedly rounded on those Irish fans who were criticising him, noting that he doesn’t need “a stupid little flower” to justify his beliefs when he represents the nation around the world, before concluding: “F*ck you and the Queen”.

The poppy is a controversial symbol for many in Ireland and several fans on social media questioned how the 27-year-old could wear the poppy after the past actions of British soldiers in the nation. However, McGregor insisted he wears the poppy to commemorate “All soldiers” and “All wars”.

He wrote:

I know where my allegiance lies and what I do for my country. I don’t need a stupid little flower with a 100 different meanings to tell me if I do or do not represent my country. Check the facts of its original meaning. ALL soldiers. ALL wars. I have the blood of many nations on my gloves. Fought and beat on the world stage. You have a pint in your hand and a Celtic jersey on in your local. F*ck you and the Queen.

McGregor later took to Twitter to continue to voice his anger at the situation, adding: “F*ck politics and f*ck religion. I just want to swing a few lefts and a few rights for a couple of hundred mill in peace.”

McGregor is next set to travel to Las Vegas to face José Aldo at UFC 194 on December 12 in a UFC world featherweight championship unification bout.
