Now the season is officially over and we can’t entertain ourselves every weekend watching men kick a ball about in a field, it’s easy to feel a bit down in the dumps.
Especially when we don’t even have a World Cup to distract us from the seemingly never-ending grey and rainy summer we’re currently having.
But worry not, because FIFA 20 is on its way and even better, it includes a FIFA Street-esque mode, Volta.
Check out the trailer below:
EA Sports has answered every football fan’s dreams by including the mode, which many have been demanding for years.
The video game company debuted the first look at FIFA 20 on social media during EA Play ahead of next week’s E3, followed by more in-depth details on what we can expect once the game drops.
As per EA, Volta ‘takes football back to the streets with the authentic culture, creativity and style of the small-sided game’.
Players will be able to choose from male and female characters, with a range of clothing, hairstyles, tattoos, and in-game celebratory emotes.
Players will also be able to play 3 v 3 Rush (no GKs), 4 v 4, 4 v 4 Rush, 5 v 5 and Professional Futsal.
You’ll also be able to ‘experience a new side of the world’s game with Volta football,’ playing in a range of settings from an underpass in Amsterdam, to a neighbourhood cage in London, or a Tokyo rooftop.
Which sounds a lot more enticing than a boring football pitch really, doesn’t it? Volta offers different sized arenas and environments – both with and without walls – which will give players the freedom to play the game their way.
Not only that, but you’ll be able to build up your squad in Volta World, leading your player through a story mode to make the most of the experience.
If you don’t fancy that, you can experience the online Volta League, playing through promotion and relegation matches.
Or, why not take your favourite professional teams to the streets in Volta Kick-Off? I reckon they’d look right at home in the streets of Amsterdam, to be quite honest.
The only thing is, we have to wait an entire three months til we can play it; FIFA 20 Ultimate Edition is available to pre-order now and will be released on September 24.
