Pedro helped himself to two goals and Diego Costa didn’t even have to be a bastard for 90 minutes to down Steve McClaren’s sorry side.
Chelsea now face PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday and should be well rested, having enjoyed a game against a side that is in serious trouble.

With speculation mounting that Jose Mourinho is set to take over at Old Trafford next season, van Gaal isn’t doing much to persuade Ed Woodward that he’s the man to return Manchester United to their former glory.

Van Gaal has spent over £250m on new players but still ended up with Donald Love and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson in his back four at the Stadium of Light.
It was a £9m signing from Bordeaux who was the pick of the bunch for Sunderland, as Wahbi Khazri tormented United with his set piece delivery – scoring one and making the other.
Not good enough from van Gaal, especially with Jose Mourinho waiting in the wings.

It would have taken quite a performance from Aston Villa to ensure Newcastle wouldn’t be remembered as the worst team this weekend, but they duly produced it at Villa Park.
Daniel Sturridge made a rare start for Liverpool and got on the scoresheet, before Jurgen Klopp’s side ran in five more to condemn Remi Garde to another heavy defeat.
Even Kolo Toure scored.
Had it not been for his surgery, Klopp would have subbed himself on and powered in another couple.
Villa are going down faster than the Titanic.
Spurs Are Refusing To Do An Arsenal
As their North London rivals do everything they can to balls up winning the league, Spurs are not planning on following suit.
Goals from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen downed Manchester City at the Etihad and put Mauricio Pochettino’s side two points behind Leicester at the top of the table.
Even with the return of Vincent Kompany, City couldn’t stop Tottenham and look miles away from giving Manuel Pellegrini the perfect send-off before Pep Guardiola takes over in the summer.
The form certainly seems to be with Spurs at this stage and with only one team from the top four left to play this season, they could be a good bet to win their first league title in 55 years.
