Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are battling out the fight deal of the century, which will see them face off in the ring… eventually.

The rumour mill was quick to confirm McGregor and Mayweather have finally agreed the terms of their eagerly-awaited fight, but Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather was quick to put paid to the suspicions.

The latest news comes straight from the horse’s mouth, as Mayweather posted a series of three Instagram posts addressing The Notorious directly.

The first two Instagram posts read:

There seems to be several rumours floating around media recently however, let the record show, there hasn’t been any deals made in regards to a fight between myself and any other fighters. I am happily retired and enjoying life at this time. If any changes are to come, be sure that I will be the first to let the world to know.

Although there has been several rumours circulating thru media suggesting that I will have an upcoming fight, I’d like to set that record straight and state that there has been no deals made on my behalf in regards to a bout with any fighter at this time. I am happily retired and enjoying my life! Rest assured that if any changes come about, I will be the first to let the world know!

Just one hour ago, Mayweather reignited his Instagram rant, saying to McGregor and his 14 million followers:

Listen, Conor McGregor, if you really want to get this fight done… take care of your business with the UFC and then have your people get in touch with my people.

This message came hours after McGregor took a dig at Mayweather upon the Irish champ’s arrival in Vegas, with yet another jab via Instagram from atop his throne.

McGregor must wait to apply for his boxing licence until after he has paid off a fine owed to the Nevada Athletic Commission. The fine came after the UFC 202 press conference skirmish with Nate Diaz last August.

It seems we have a lot of vocal sparring and side-stepping to witness until the two fighting greats actually throw any punches in anger.

For now we’ll have to settle for social media wars between them.
