Floyd Mayweather has booked Las Vegas’ MGM Grand for August 26 as the £500 million super-fight with Conor McGregor edges closer to becoming reality.
The fight between five-weight boxing world champion Mayweather or ‘Money’ and UFC lighweight champ McGregor is long-awaited.
Money is an undefeated boxing superstar who has fought at the famous casino venue for the final dozen bouts of his career.
Previously, Mayweather announced he was coming out of retirement specifically to fight the The Notorious:
For Conor McGregor, I’m coming out of retirement — just to fight Conor McGregor.
I don’t want to hear no more excuses about the money [or] about the UFC. Sign the paper with the UFC, so you can fight me in June. Simple and plain. Let’s fight in June.

The fight, which remains unannounced, will be shown on Showtime, Mayweather’s historical broadcaster of choice.
28-year-old Irishman McGregor has not fought since he won the UFC lightweight title last November, and has never boxed professionally having switched to MMA when he was young.
So it seems the date is set for the fight we have all been waiting for.
