Sadly, we can’t all become premier league footballers, with our passion for the game generally shining through most during Sunday morning kick arounds.
However, it’s always fun to daydream and a new app will make you feel ready to take on Europe’s best by the time the next stage of the Champions League comes around.
Viber is an instant messaging app which allows users to (almost) experience the thrill of playing for FC Barcelona, following in the legendary football boots of Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho…
If you are one of the 1.6 million football fans attending a Camp Nou stadium tour this year, then Viber is here to enhance your experience.
Once you download Viber, there are five QR codes to scan throughout the stadium, all intended to make you feel part of the squad.
After scanning the first code, a message from manager Ernesto Valverd appears, in the Barcelona group chat no less, welcoming you to the club.
Then, Ivan Rakitić will ask your preferred playing position. Your answer will trigger yet more messages from your fellow players, who will send questions and welcome messages. You will even receive a personalised contract.
Later in the tour, you can record yourself answering press questions, which you can play back through the app in TV newsflash form. You can even record yourself heading up to the pitch, to the cheers of the Camp Nou crowd.
You can then prove yourself against your new teammates during the Wall Ball Challenge, before uploading and comparing your score on the app.
This tricky challenge involves balancing the ball on your foot, flicking it against the wall before catching it again as many times as you can.
Sounds like the perfect way to bring a competitive edge to your tour!
