PALast night, Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason fractured his skull during the Premier League match at Stamford Bridge after a serious head clash with Gary Cahill.
Medics rushed onto the pitch 13 minutes into the match to treat the midfielder who was stretchered off wearing a neck brace and an oxygen mask.
He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in London, where he had surgery, according to Sky Sports.
While the 25-year-old is said to be in a stable condition, conscious and speaking, fans critical of England star Cahill have taken to Twitter to give their view on the horrific clash.

Although interestingly these people singularly failed to note that Cahill – along with John Terry and Chelsea coach Steve Holland – actually visited Mason in hospital after his surgery.

Twitter users tagging Cahill or writing in response to his tweets have called him a ‘killer’, murderer’ and a ‘piece of shit’.
Unfortunately, consideration for how the centre-back must be feeling seems to be seriously lacking.
However not everyone was critical of Cahill over the collision and some shared messages of support for both players.

A Hull statement read:
Ryan has been speaking of the incident yesterday and will continue to be monitored at the hospital over the coming days.
The club will remain in close contact with Ryan, his family and the staff at St Mary’s.
Ryan and his family have also been extremely touched by the overwhelming support they have received.
Our thoughts go out to both Mason and Cahill.
