Gary Lineker Threatens To Kick Sons Out Of His Will After England Win

Just because England are doing well in the World Cup it doesn’t mean you have the liberty to take the p*ss.

This is the mantra former England legend, and Match of the Day presenter, Gary Lineker, has for his two sons, who think it’s okay to raid his wardrobe and wear his old England jerseys.

Obviously, they’re important mementoes in a career so illustrious and noteworthy as Gary’s, so it’s only natural he’s a little over-protective of his old shirts.

Which is why he’s threatened to kick both of his sons out of his will if they come back home without them.

Now, before you throw your arms up in the air in disgust and question his parenting… he’s obviously joking.

Although that being said, retro football shirts can fetch a pretty penny at resale value and Gary’s will obviously be worth a shed load!

If you happen to have an authentic football jersey from England teams of the past, you’re sitting on a potential goldmine.

Furthermore, if said football jersey belongs to one of the most prolific goals scorers in England’s history, then you can expect the resale price to be hiked up to a ludicrous amount.

Before England’s game against Sweden today, (July 7), George Lineker took a picture of him and his brother wearing their father’s England jersey’s from Mexico ’86 and Sweden ’92.

In the caption, Geroge wrote:

World Cup ’86 and Euro ’92..Cheers Gaz… only cos it’s coming home [sic]

Obviously coming across his son’s socila media post, just before kick-off, Gary the sent a tweet to his two boys which read:

If they don’t come home, you’re both out of the will.

You’d assume Mr Lineker is referring to his two jerseys, but for all you know, he could be talking about the England squad too.

This isn’t the first time George has been spotted wearing his old man’s gear.

Before England’s second-round knockout game against Colombia (July 3), he was seen wearing his dad’s ’86 World Cup jersey again.

In a Twitter post he wrote:

Nicked the old mans 86’ World Cup shirt from his trophy cabinet … because it’s coming home [sic]

A surprised Gary Linker wrote:

Whaaattttt? Make sure it does come home

Today, England beat Sweden in the quarter-finals to reach their first semi-finals since Italia ’90. The Three Lion’s secured their victory thanks to goals from Harry Maguire and Dele Alli.

The first half started cautiously for both sides, until the 30th minute when Harry Maguire scored a header from an Ashley Young corner.

After the first goal, England were all over Sweden with a lots of opportunities being created to double their lead before the end of the first half.

In the second half though, England finally grabbed their second, this time coming from Dele Alli, who connected with a cross from Jesse Lingard in the 58th minute.

With Sweden now put to rest, they can focus on preparing for a semi-final clash with either Croatia or host nation Russia, next week.

Gareth Southgate’s men will find out who they’ll be facing later this evening, when Russia play Croatia.
