If people earning ludicrous sums of money for being able to kick a piece of plastic harder than the average person is the type of thing that get’s you hot and bothered then we’ve got some good news for you, The Sunday Times sport rich list has been released.
Lewis Hamilton maintains the top spot after another successful year driving a car fast but there are a few new faces on the list including Pep Guardiola and Zlatan Ibrahimovic who also bumps Wayne Rooney off the richest footballer top spot.
Here’s the list in full…

Guardiola may have the edge over Mourinho on the football pitch but in terms of money he loses out massively to his rival.
8. Gareth Bale (£54m)
Mr Bale who specialises in kicking rubber into a net for Real Madrid managed earn £20 million this year upping his ludicrous wealth to £54 million.

Rory, who’s probably in the top ten per cent of people who hit balls with metal clubs, upped his fortune by £26 million this year proving that the world really is an unfair place.
4. Jenson Button (£86m)
Racing driver Jenson Button managed to earn a whopping £9 million this year which is pretty impressive considering he no longer has a a permanent team we’re guessin he’s been moonlighting as an Uber driver and taken advantage of surge charges.
3. Wayne Rooney (£93m)
The first of two Manchester United stars on the list Wayne Rooney manages to maintain a spot on the rich list, despite being as useful on the football pitch as a particularity ornate trifle, increasing his personal wealth by £11 million.
Unfortunately for Rooney despite having wealth equivalent to some small nations he’s no longer the the richest footballer on the list.
2. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (£110m)
Bumping Rooney from the richest footballer spot Zlatan Ibrahimovic who’s earned eye-watering sums of money for over a decade at clubs including; Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Manchester United.
Despite currently being injured Zlatan earns £220,000 a week at United and has a cushy sponsorship deal with Nike, which seems unfair considering how long he’s spent on the bench.
All I’m saying Nike is I’ve been sitting down professionally for years, and I’m looking for sponsorship.
1. Lewis Hamilton (£131m)
Lewis Hamilton who to the best of my knowledge drives really, really fast like my sister when she’s late for work maintains the number one spot which considering he’s famous for coming first in things probably bodes well for his future career prospects.
