After defeating reigning champion Ronda Rousey in a one-sided fight, Holly Holm has gone on the record to prove what a truly class act she is.
When asked what she thought about the way a number of high profile figures had slammed Rousey following her defeat, she spoke of how she has “nothing but respect” for the former champ. She made it clear she thinks people should treat her with the respect she deserves for changing the face of women’s MMA fighting.
This comes after Donald Trump tweeted:
Lady Gaga weighed in too, posting this with the caption: “That’s what you get for not touching gloves.”
Holm’s latest response comes after she had already paid tribute to her opponent in the immediate aftermath of her comprehensive knockout.
She told TMZ Sports:
Ronda’s been a very dominant champ, and she’s taken the sport to new levels. And this fight wouldn’t have happened if she hasn’t accomplished what she’s accomplished. So I have a lot of respect for her.
Sounds like she’s going to have a different outlook on being champ to Ronda’s.
