Real Madrid star and Porto football legend Iker Casillas has been rushed to hospital after suffering a heart attack.
The 37-year-old goalkeeper was taken to hospital earlier today, May 1. He was taken to the Hospital CUF in Porto.
The club confirmed the news to TVI, via The Sun, saying the Spanish keeper is ‘doing well’.

After the traumatic ordeal, Casillas is expected to be ruled out for a least the rest of the current season.
According to reports, Casillas suffered the heart during training, and underwent went emergency surgery, though is now believed to be ‘out of danger’.
Casillas, a former Spain international, has also played for Real Madrid, and is currently at FC Porto.

The 37-year-old is considered one of the most successful goalkeepers of recent years, with over 1,000 career games and countless trophies. He was part of the team that led Spain to their first ever World Cup win in South Africa in 2010.
Casillas also holds the Spanish record for most international appearances, at 167. He’s been nominated for the Ballon d’Or, and has won the Champions League three times.

After raking up 725 appearances for Real Madrid, he joined Porto on a free transfer. He is the joint sixth-most capped male footballer in history, and joint second-most in club history.
According to reports, it was during training at Porto that the keeper was taken off the field feeling unwell.

Casillas married Spanish TV journalist Sara Carbonero in 2015. The couple have two sons together.
His current club, Porto, have three games left to play this season in the top Portugese league, and are currently two points behind the top spot.
