Let no one say the transfer window isn’t dramatic.
Just when it looked like Manchester United had agreed a deal for David De Gea to go to Real Madrid, and cash plus Keylor Navas to come in the other direction, the most dramatic thing possible happened.
Somehow, Manchester United failed to send the paperwork through to the Liga in time, and with no precident in Spain to push through a deal after the window has closed, the move appears to be off.
Keylor Navas had packed his bags, and agreed a pay cut to join United, De Gea was waiting at his girlfriend’s house for the deal to be finalised, complete with his special suit for the presentation tomorrow, but now, everyone will be staying where they are.
Here is how the internet reacted…

Someone has won the internet…
If Real Madrid miss out on De Gea, will Benitez's anti-United speech this time be "I want to talk about FAX" ?
