By now, it’s pretty safe to say that the concept of loyalty in football is about as realistic as the thought of Ashley Cole going a day without checking his bank balance.
After seeing Raheem Sterling up and leave for Manchester City, Fabian Delph’s decision to stay at Aston Villa was a breath of fresh air – or so it seemed.
Less than a week after the player claimed he was happy to stay at Villa, he has apparently been spotted having a medical at Manchester City – and the internet had something to say. Quite a lot, in fact.

From Milner and Lampard to Sterling and Delph. This is a major improvement.
