Kailan Hill, take a bow.

At LFA 54 on Friday (November 16) in Costa Mesa, California, the middleweight registered a devastating 11-second finish, knocking out Andre Walker with a spinning backfist which’ll make your teeth hurt.

It was his fastest of three – yes three – first round knockouts in 2018. His previous best this calendar year was a 78-second knockout of Alex Thompson, while Adam Fugitt mustered what’s now a damn respectable 91 seconds inside the cage with Hill.

Circling his opponent Hill caught Walker completely unaware with the vicious spinning strike.

When the fist makes contact with Walker’s chin the fighter’s body is visibly beyond his control, crashing to the canvas after being spun 180 degrees and landing face first.

And that is all she wrote.

The impressive finish extends Hill’s professional record to 4-0. Good luck to whoever he faces next as, while MMA may pay the bills, Hill doesn’t appear to want to spend any more time than he has to inside the cage.

Does it better Yair Rodriguez’ clutch elbow to KO ‘The Korean Zombie’, Chan Sung Jung at the UFC’s 25th anniversary show in Denver earlier in November?

Rodriguez’ guile saw him connect with just one second remaining in his headline UFC Denver bout, and for that reason, I’m going to give it to him – an illustrious honour, I know.

While there’s no doubting Hill’s brutal potential as a knockout artist, hopefully his next opponent can push him to round two or, dare to dream, a third round – but who am I to complain?

Keep the knockouts coming.
