PAJennifer Lopez has revealed the text which made her fall in love with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez.
The loved-up pair have been dating ‘officially’ for seven months when they made their debut as a couple at this May’s annual Met Gala in New York.
In a recent feature spread for Vanity Fair the couple opened up about their new found relationship.
PALopez and Rodriguez told Vanity Fair about their first date at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles – which the former baseball player wasn’t even sure was a date at first.
It was when the singer and actress told A-Rod she was officially single that he made his move. Rodriguez was so ‘overcome with emotion’ he had to excuse himself and take a moment to compose himself in the men’s room.
The New York Yankees legend told Vanity Fair:
She told me around the third or fourth inning that she was single.
I had to get up and go re-adjust my thoughts. I went to the bathroom and got enough courage to send her a text.
PASo what was in that golden text which won the heart of Jenny From The Block? Apparently the 2009 World Series winner (which is like the Premier League title for those of you who don’t do baseball-speak) told her ‘You look sexy AF’.
And that’s what won J. Lo over? Not some grand gesture like Ted Mosby would pull in How I Met Your Mother or some big long poem which professes his love. Nope, just a simple text saying how ‘[delete expletive]-ing sexy’ she is.
Proof that men have been doing sexting wrong all this time.
Lopez revealed to the Vanity Fair after receiving A-Rod’s text ‘The fire alarm went off, and we had to evacuate’, something the reporter assumed was a metaphor for something else. Turns out J. Lo was being for real, fire alarms did actually go off.
PARodriguez and Lopez were also on a recent episode of The View – which is like the US equivalent of Loose Women.
On the show A-Rod revealed his two daughters from his previous marriage love Lopez, saying:
She is such a great role model. They look at her like she’s the Messiah.
My girls essentially hit the lottery. What 12-year-old and 9-year-old wouldn’t feel like, ‘Oh my God, I’m the luckiest human being on the planet?’ They’re super thrilled!
While the whole world may know who Jennifer Lopez is, Rodriguez is mainly a celebrity in the United States. For those who don’t know, he’s a former pro-baseball player who played short-stop for the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees (with whom he won the World Series).
After the 2016 season A-Rod hung up his bat and mitt to become a broadcaster on Fox Sports 1. While his career is arrayed in sporting accolades and achievements, it has also been dogged with rumours of steroid abuse. Something the sport on whole is no stranger to.
