Manchester United Officially Introduce Jose Mourinho as Their New ManagerGetty

Jose Mourinho has had a rather good transfer window.

Since taking over the Red Devils after Louis van Gaal was sacked, Mourinho has signed four players capable of turning United into potential Premier League champions, and one of those is Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The much decorated Swede is in the twilight days of his career, but has already set about proving people who doubted he could do it in England wrong.

He scored a trademark scissor kick in his first game against Galatasaray, and followed it up with a towering header to win United the Community Shield.

It was widely reported that the former Pairs Saint Germain, Barcelona and Inter Milan striker had signed a one year deal at Old Trafford, but Jose has contradicted those reports.

Speaking about the 34-year-old Mourinho said:

We are so happy to have him and for two years, probably the last two years of his career.

He probably couldn’t find a bigger league to finish his career and we couldn’t find a better striker in this moment of our building process of our team.

We couldn’t find a better striker than him to give us the stability we need.

So not only has Mourinho (mistakenly or not) revealed that his new man will be in Manchester for the next two years, but also expects him to retire after his time at United comes to an end.

That’s potentially bad news for clubs from America and China, who are interested in taking Ibrahimovic to their money spinning leagues as their latest marquee signing.

It might especially piss David Beckham off, because he wants Zlatan to be his first big signing for his new MLS franchise, Miami United.

But it looks like Ibra won’t be swapping rain soaked Manchester for sunny America anytime soon, which is another boost for Mourinho’s United upheaval.
