Judge Scorecards For Mayweather Vs McGregor Show Some Odd Scoring

Floyd Mayweather defeated Conor McGregor in Las Vegas tonight in one of the biggest sporting spectacles ever to have taken place.

The tenth round TKO of McGregor confirmed Mayweather as the greatest boxer of all time with a 50-0 record while The Notorious cemented his place as one of the greatest fighters ever, having switched disciplines to compete and not show himself as a complete amateur.

The first few rounds were tense and many commentators were sure McGregor was winning at least the first three of them.

However, images of the scorecards show a different story.

Judges for the historic fight were Dave Moretti, Burt Clements and Guido Cavalleri – their scoring methods have many feeling a little confused.

Naturally, people were taken aback by the scorecards, especially given two of the judges show Mayweather to have won more of the early rounds – most felt McGregor dominated the earlier rounds.

The reaction on Twitter was one claiming fixing and bias – which is no stranger to the sport of boxing:

Since the end of the fight, Mayweather has announced his retirement but we’re sure we haven’t heard the end of this.
